The ten best leaves you’ve probably stepped on this fall

By Styx Slizza

I firmly believe that, in this age of technology, we need to make an attempt to be more mindful of the beautiful natural world around us. Whilst mindfully observing the ground on my many walks, I’ve encountered many leaves, quite possibly because it is autumn. I decided it would be a wonderful idea to show the world some of these leaves. The top ten leaves, in fact.

I find this leaf to be utterly delightful. It’s hard to believe that one tiny little leaf could pack in so much color, but here it is right in front of our eyes! Crazy stuff. I really enjoy the yellow base with the ring of green.

Honestly, I have somewhat mixed emotions about this leaf. On one hand, the white splotches make for a wonderful design. On the other, why does it look like that? Is there something wrong with it? Is it diseased?

This leaf is BEAUTIFUL. INCREDIBLE. The colors go so beautifully together, and I’m not sure if the photo does him justice but there is a tiny little bug on there. I really love him and I feel that he greatly adds to this photo. However, the leaf loses a point for being hard to photograph properly.

This is the absolute pinnacle of fall leaves. The shape and color are both spectacular and the way that the tips of the leaf radiate out from one point adds so much beauty. It looks like a burst of fire coming out from the sun. This leaf brought tears to my eyes.

Personally, I love anything and everything heart shaped that comes from nature. It is a gentle reminder that love is all around us. This leaf is a perfect heart shape (or at least, as perfect as a leaf can get). I also very much love the subtle color variations.

I am absolutely astounded by the beauty I found in this leaf. She has the body of a goddess. Fibonacci spiral who? The way the colors are arranged on it are incredible as well, the main body of the leaf is a beautiful orange and then the yellow outline with slight green on the edges comes in to make the whole thing even better.

Have you ever eaten one of those big multicolored tomatoes? They taste really good. That is what the color and shape of this leaf remind me of. Absolutely delicious. I love this leaf’s beautiful rounded shape and the way the colors fade from a yellowish green all the way to a black.

This is like the daddy long legs of leaves. Do you see that stem? It just keeps going. The color is also nothing the scoff at, the yellows and greens in the center that fade out to a beautiful light orange are really what makes it incredible. The sharp tips on its points are also very becoming, and I greatly appreciate them.

Despite being tiny, the sharp contrast in colors of this leaf manage to pack a massive punch. It looks like a sunset more beautiful than any sunset I’ve ever seen in my life. I also think that it’s slightly warped side is very pretty, it adds a unique bit of character to this leaf.
