LC’s Kodachrome is a Life-Changing Experience

The cast of LC’s upcoming production Kodachrome are hard at work in rehearsal.

“We all live once,” says Grace Parker, when asked what she believes people will take away from watching Kodachrome. “So we need to live our lives to the fullest and take risks.”

Grace plays Suzanne, the narrator of the play and photographer of Colchester, Connecticut. Suzanne takes you along with her as she photographs the many intricate love stories that unfold onstage. “I think everyone can relate to it in some way,” Asa Wadden, who portrays the Hardware Store Owner, adds. “There are couples of all ages who go through all parts of their relationships and people who never couple up.”

Despite this show being relatively unheard of, the cast of Kodachrome could not be more excited to share this beautiful story. Rehearsals began just days after winter break ended, and every day since then has been leading up to this week.

Something special about this show, that I have never seen before, is the use of live photos being taken and projected on the stage. A gigantic screen that encompasses the background of the stage displays the photos Grace takes throughout the play. Brief moments, thoughts, and feelings, all frozen in time and preserved beyond the fleeting second it was taken in.

The show runs for one weekend only, opening on Thursday, February 26, with a 7pm show, and closing on Saturday, at 2pm! Don’t miss your chance to experience this incredible script, brought to life by your Lewis and Clark peers!
